Good morning friends!! WE HIT *100,000* TOTAL ITEMS GIVEN AWAY this week! Woo! After only 18 months doing our thing… Wild… To put this into perspective, it took us over two months to give away a total of 1,000 items when we first launched, then about a year to hit a total of 50,000, and …
Filed under “other turns we didn’t expect to take” with this project, lol – we now accept collectibles and antiques as donations! Why, you say? So we can fund raise without actually having to fund raise 🙂 This idea came up randomly last month when we were anonymously donated a couple silver spoons that turned …
Want to help out, but don’t have any clothes or money to donate?! Consider running a Drive for us! 🙂 Drives are a great way to get involved, especially with youth groups or clubs, schools, churches, or even your own children : ) Here are a number of ideas that have worked in the past, …
One of my favorite things about this project is figuring out how to give away the most clothes in the most efficiently way possible. And this new collaboration with Fredericksburg United Methodist Church is a beautiful example of this! They reached out a couple of weeks ago asking if we’d be interested in adding clothes …

This is so awesome. We applied over the Summer for a grant from The Community Foundation, and we recently found out that we got it! Woo! $2,500 towards maintaining Walter and expanding our mission – our largest “donation” yet 🙂 And boy… I’ve always heard people talk about how brutal applying to grants are, so …
We got a van donated to us!!! Cuz we have the best supporters ever!!! Meet “Walter” – a 2008 Ford E350 Super Duty cargo van who has “gone through some stuff”, lol, but will now be put to use spreading love and doing GOOD in the community. A friend of mine out in St Louis …
This was pretty cool 🙂 A number of months back, a group from Xavier University of Louisiana stopped by the Community Dinner with a videographer and started recording everything that goes on at them – including The Closet. Unbeknownst to me, Micah Ecumenical Ministries was nominated for an “Opus Prize” and in the running for …
Our first site did the trick and got us off the ground, but boy was it hacked together in the end… It was literally just a “coming soon” page that I kept updating until it became too much (I was coding up new pages from scratch!). But now we have a refreshed version inspired by …
