Thank you so much for being here! We’re ALWAYS accepting donations – both clothing and financial – and would love to add you to our “Friends” page along with our 200+ other friends and organizations who support our mission! Here are all the ways you can help:
How to Donate Clothes
The best way to connect with us is by shooting us a text or email and we will find a convenient way to meet : ) We are completely mobile and don’t have a “store” front, but you are always welcome to drop off items at any of our pop-ups! (Dates and locations on our homepage)
I know itβs more annoying than dropping off at Goodwill, but I promise itβll do much greater good π All donated items go *directly* to people who need it, and usually within days of receiving them. We never sell any clothes!
*** You can email me at x@freecloset.org or call/text me at (540) 642-0048. You can also DM us on Instagram: @FXBGFreeCloset or Facebook ***
We accept ALL gently used and new clothing (shirts, pants, shoes, etc), but the most helpful are casual clothing for adults. Particularly mens. We’re also always on the hunt for sleeping bags and tents, backpacks, luggage as well as toiletries. The items we don’t need too much of are dress clothes and kid clothes.
How to Donate Money
Every last dollar we raise goes directly to our mission of providing free clothes and essentials to those who need it in our area! We have no paid staff (not even the Founder β me!), so we run pretty efficiently.
That said, it costs us about $350/mo to operate (gas, insurance, maintenance, boring admin costs) so we are always looking for ways to fund raise. We will even take collectable coins or silverware (or Pokemon cards!) as we’re easily able to convert these into cash!
*** Please consider donating, even just $10.00 helps! ***
We accept the following forms of payment:
- Venmo — ID: @FXBGFreeCloset
- PayPal — Email: x@freecloset.org (You can use credit card & check through this)
- Apple Pay — Phone #: 703-581-9298
- Cash/Checks — Happy to accept in person over coffee! β
*PLEASE NOTE: Financial donations are *not* tax deductible as we are not legally a 501(c)3 yet. If a tax receipt is important to you, or you’re making a large donation (thank you!!!) let us know first and we will get you a receipt through one of our 501(c)3 partners π
